Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of the evening around a virtual kitchen table with kossacks who aren’t throwing pies at one another. So bring your stories, recipes, pics, music, and interesting videos, as well as links to diaries or news stories that you think this community would appreciate. Or just drop by and tell us about your weather. Newcomers may notice that many who post diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.

sitting inside as I write this...see above...as it has been raining pretty solid the last day or so. yesterday morning was the last sunrise pic for a few days…

thankfully we are warm and cozy inside. and if we should lose power...worry not...the backup generator is connected and ready. if it senses the power is out for more than 4 seconds...it automatically starts...then shuts off when the power comes back on.

there is some adjustments needed adapting to mountain life...even for the cats. one wall of our bedroom is mostly covered by a large sliding glass door. I typically drift off to sleep looking out at our redwood trees...backlit by the soft glow of San Jose. the other night I was awoken by satan cat hissing and growling...she was going crazy. looking out I could just make out the silhouettes of two men in tan...oy.

grandma’s room is nearly done...flooring goes in Mon and Tues...then paint and trim. should have all her stuff moved back in by the time she gets home from her cruise. their cruise left NJ Thur morning...just ahead of the storms.

my sister-in-law was invited for this cruise...free of charge...after spending who knows how much for art on the last cruise. they have meals separate from the rest of the cruise...sharing tables with various artists. I have little doubt grandma will come home with more art that she will have no room to hang...but it makes her happy.

personally...I’m happy to sit out front and watching the art nature offers at no charge...mornings are great…

...but I assume summer dinners on the patio will be just as enjoyable.
