[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-01-11 Hello, *Takes a deep breath* “Godsdamned conservative (&//%(/) & z8( FRACKIN’ ( &%$§ U U(ß0) DIRTY (U365uU($ LIARS!” Oh my, and how we are outraged at that and their dissembling. They lie about their wealth and they lie about their poverty, they lie about their religion and they lie to their Gods- for assuredly, conservatism spans nearly all religions. They lie about their sexual orientation and they lie about their sexual desires and practices, they lie about love and they lie about hate and we, good people, get so very upset at them for lying to us about, well, everything, that I worry about our health, truly. I mean, our outrage has even been given a name by the other side- “Liberal Tears”. That is because we don’t understand the war we are caught up in. As a matter of fact, we are so blind to our situation betimes, it seems we cannot fight effectively. We keep giving the opposing side a fair handshake and a grin- with a tossed off “Good Luck!” thrown out there for good measure. Alas, the hand we are shaking has a deadly electric buzzer strapped to the palm and the smile on the face looking back at us is malicious and even sadistic- the lips are murmuring a quiet “Sucker” as those hands clasp. That’s a feature, not a bug. Why don’t we learn this most basic of tenets? it seems we’re the straight guy for every damn conservative prat fall they set up. The rug getting pulled out from under our unsuspecting feet has become standard fare- the opener to some really horrific theater that always seems to leave the straight man wearing a cast on both legs and grinning weakly. See, the straight man BELIEVES in fairness and rules, has a real faith in the inherent goodness in all men. This is why the straight man has a crooked nose, it has been broken so many times by conservative fists. Too often the straight man earns that “Sucker” appellation. However, that is actually one of our strengths. It has to be, because, somehow, we keep winning. But, where did we go wrong in the first place, why is this such a back and forth battle? Personally, I think history informs us of a lot that could help us out if we just take the time to learn it. For me it was the story of the Magna Carta that started my personal path of realization. The story goes as follows. Somewhere back in the darkness of the last century, I was taught the candy coated version of the “Birth of representation and rights for every man” in a public school in Illinois. Therein, according to my textbook and teacher, an English monarch had a picnic with some other English nobles, early summer 1215- and over a bit of roast lamb the King just signed away his right to absolute rule. Everyone was happy and apparently, about the next day or so, America was created and we developed true democracy. Every person was equal, all were happy. The world had become a better, more harmonious, place. Did you just see that pig flying by? I’ve seriously never seen one with such a lustrous coat! In any case, as my years lengthened and my reading deepened, I found out some things. See, that King’s hand was forced by the threat of rebellion through those same nobles who had more armies than he had. Ah, the reality settles over the narrative. THAT can be quite disconcerting! It also seems that that King went running to the Pope, the OTHER contemporaneous totalitarian force in the world and had the decision declared null and void as it was signed under duress. Nope, no way, no how could his absolute power be curtailed- he didn’t WANT that and no way was that valid! HE WAS ROBBED! His power was STOLEN from him! The Pope agreed. However, the good part of the equation is that the Magna Carta wasn’t a judicial precedent as much as it was a political one. It was a peace treaty, and the pope was ignored because Johnny King lately really wanted that peace! Without it, someone ELSE would be fighting to keep absolute power, he’d much rather it be him. We DO want to note, however, that during all of this moving and shaking amongst the “Betters”, that rights and freedoms for the dirty, unwashed, unlettered, born into filth and predestined by God(s) for poverty and a lower class proletariat were not to be seen anywhere in that agreement. They weren’t to be heard, touched, felt or even intimated, so far as those people who would one day become- you guessed it, conservatives, were concerned. Nope, noble people still get to own common people and treat them like bovine faeces. So, the Kings of the world slowly, for such an idea will spread, verily, were forced to admit that they could not run roughshod over people of their OWN class, taking their MONEY from them at the first sight of a whim, (isn’t it always about money with these people?) and bossing them around with no chance for any redress. What a great day for democrac-— oh, shhh, be quiet about that stuff! The common people, however, still lived dirty, nasty lives and the uncommon people liked it that way. For whatever reason, there is a sickness in the human soul that allows some people to feel they are better than other people, it is SO allowed, that these people actually work very hard at making the lives of other people really miserable. After a fairly short time, a couple of centuries, well, the commoners went and made one HELL of a precedent for rights and stuff off on that new continent off West or East, dependant on where you were looking from- but what really gave the totalitarian power structure the impetus to hide, QUICKLY, was seeing a basket full of Antoinette hair covering eyes that looked quite shocked at the change in circumstance being carried across a Paris square to the musical sounds of common voices singing happily. It seems that, not being content with out and out ROBBERY of the better class’ power and authority, now they were really getting above themselves and were killing the upper class. Holy cow, and that shit was SPREADING! NOT a good development! What to do, what to do, okay, fine, hide in plain sight. Old King John has shown us the way. Agree to their face then work like hell to destroy everything you just agreed to. Because, see, they were forced. Therein the “Lie Inherent”- I put it to you that they never, ever meant any of it. Nor do they stop trying. As I understand it, conservatism was sold to the people that glommed onto it as an ideology. “Change WILL come, we see that now, however, uncontrolled change becomes chaos (The little people feel their power and start killing their oppressors, us) and thus it must be responsibly steered as it becomes a new reality.” I think we’ve just found the ancestral progenitor to today’s misinformation. Let us see what they didn’t say, as they try to claw back all of their power and all of their gold. “The mob keeps trying to bring about changes that steal from us our wealth, privilege and power, we see that now, however, uncontrolled change leads to us leading ordinary lives or being exterminated in class struggles because there are more of them than there ever will be of us. We need to steer society away from these changes that the proletariat keeps putting over our heads while smiling and saying we actually AGREE to their world view and like it.” Wow, my first stint as “Translator: Conservish — English”. Somehow, we missed it back in those jubilant days of success. For, speaking from our side, there have been successes, there have been MANY successes. Those successes really anger our opponents, indeed. Now, I need you to think of the steady state universe theory, all was in a state of perfection, there were no anomalies anywhere. Ommmmm. Now, think of the world, EVERY ruler was the descendant of someone who had gained power by taking it with an axe. Everywhere. Now, that steady state is like a placid ocean, no freedom anywhere, no change allowed nor wanted! Then a BIG comet lands in that unmoving ocean, things are chaotic, waves are tossed up and the land is washed with vista changing waves. After that all subsides, and it takes time, the steady state universe and ocean are gone. Now we have movement, movement creates friction and opposing forces. Now we have waves. In our case those waves have translated into dark swells that rise up, think of the Hitlerian wave and the wave that brought about the civil war, think of the current rise of authoritarians, Trump, Meloni, Xinping, Putin, Netanyahu or Orban to name a few, as molecules in a wave. I think waves recede, I know that a body in motion tends to stay in motion until an equal or greater force brings it to quiescence. I think we are seeing that now. I think freedom is the gravity that will calm that unruly sea. What I think we are not seeing, forest for the trees sort of thing and all that, is that of course they ’ re going to lie. That salt is baked into the bread already. King John lied to the Barons, people just like him so they must have been expecting that- and immediately moved to regain what, he thought, was rightfully his. Absolute power over everybody, the right to do ANYTHING he wishes because he is who and what he is. Does that sound at all familiar to you? They are in a war, and they fight for the things that are most precious to them. Their filthy lucre and their tiny, tarnished egos. What is truly surprising is the headline: “TrumpCheneyReaganChristieRubioCruzJohnsonGreene LIED!” Of course they did, the first thing to die in a war is the truth. One thing I’ve not addressed is the fact that Trump supporters, Meloni or Putin supporters are not of the nobility. No, but they’d like to be. The beleaguered Totalitarians, now known of as conservatives, needed allies and a caste system with slow birth rates of genetically deficient children will not an army build. So, the nobility becomes a noble trait. Whiteness is noble. Being True Italian or True Russian or a True German is noble. That makes it so you can handily hate everyone else. And the lie? Why, it is right there too. Trump makes use of it every day as do the others. Once they get their power back, IF they ever get their power back, once they need no allies, those traits go back to being “Not enough to keep you off the block or out of the re-education camp if you piss off the Boss or his people! Suckers!” I will close with my not so scholarly discourse by saying this, as a combat arms soldier- every action takes energy. Yes, I can fuse a round, get a cannon ready to fire, dig a fox hole and memorize the days pass and challenge WHILE being outraged that the enemy lied to me about something dear to me. Or I can expect it, the enemy lies, and have that energy that I need in this never ending war to best allocate where I most need it. And to the conservatives out there? Are you REALLY? I mean, last year a group of SUPPOSED conservatives, former German Nobles who wanted power back, actually tried to overthrow a working, respected government that was formed by and for the PEOPLE!
