No More Rope-a-Dope From the Democrats [1]

Just a reminder that speeches like Biden made the other day, and about 7 weeks ago by Newsom, said with a dash of fire and brimstone, are much too rare and far between from Democrats.

Rep. Crockett’s from Texas’ off the charts short speech at the Hunter Biden hearings, used by Egberto Willies in his bull’s-eye KOS blog, reminded us yet again that our Party is much too soft and defensive given the outrageous behavior of the Republicans. I have no idea sometimes how the Party’s rhetoric and tone are guided or decided upon. But it’s not cutting it less than a year from the elections while these moronic fascists destroy and destabilize our country.

No More Rope-a-Dope

“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.”

I can grasp the short term benefits of a “rope-a-dope strategy” such as Muhammad Ali employed against George Foreman. Absorbing and deflecting Foreman’s deadly punches while leaning back on the ropes.

Biden has mostly tried this approach for the first 3 years of his term. It worked to some extent as far as trying to govern the country. It appears he was also trying to keep the country from exploding.

The Time Has Come . . .

But sooner or later you have to go on the offensive and knock out your opponent. That time has long since arrived. Ali’s manager Angelo Dundee was alleged to have had to reminded Ali in the corner after the 7th round, “OK, what are you waiting for? Go knock Foreman out, he’s exhausted.“ And he did!

Now I’m not suggesting responding with the moronic trash talk Trump and the Republicans are fond of serving to the masses. But it’s time to punch back. And hard.
