Air Force Disciplines 15 in Texeira Leak Case. Is the Leak Because of Crazy Republicanism? [1]

The Air Force disciplined 15 service members for poor performance in the Jack Texeira case, which is reasonable. However, from what I have read, it is possible Texeira case analogs are going to reoccur like school shootings, due to conservative blowhards working against America. Back to the discipline — there were a number or servicemembers who did not follow correct procedures, and a number of people who did not know correct procedures, for a high level intelligence site.

What is nuts from what I have read is that the discussion revolved around how the site had servicemembers with poor training in what the correct procedures were, but did not discuss how they did things that were contradictory to the training that was constantly grilled into them. It is that absence that I want to bring up. That absence reminds me of current conservatism, which I will contrast with conservatism that I grew up with. My parents were conservative, and my dad was an Air Force officer. He would on some occasions talk about work stories. They essentially were all about things that happened at work when something went wrong, and what was done to address them.

The example that comes to mind occurred about 40 years ago. There was a training event that occurred in a wing that my dad was third in command of, with the wing including AWACs, at Offut Air Force Base. They had just had a training exercise that was run from Washington, and the wing “failed” (my dad’s words) because a staff sergeant did not pick up a fax and give it to an officer. My dad said that they would be redoing the exercise to get it right.

That is not unusual from the stories I grew up with. It was things that went wrong and stuffing money into training the servicemembers.

So, as I was reading about the Texeira investigation, I was expecting to hear about all the training exercises that occurred in this high level intelligence site. Instead, crickets. Is that what conservatives do these days? Is their constant bashing of America causing worries about conservative backlash by the (conservative) military?
