Morning Open Thread - A handyman's thoughts. [1]

I was asked by a photographer (once upon a time when I was more photogenic), “what do you think is your best feature?”. I replied, “My hands.” Here are a few reasons why this makes sense to me.

Handy items

I have kneaded, clasped, fondled and held,

reached for, passed off, saluted and felt,

written with, flicked, talked with and dealt,

pinched, blocked, stroked, twist,

and modified, using items attached to my wrists.

Final Request

Palms together and fingers linked

bound by restraints, imitating the reverent,

a prisoner on knees

begs forgiveness with clasped, nail-chewed hands.

I reached out and connected by typing these words.

The blind can visualize and the deaf can orate with their hands.

Directions are given and gifts received at arms length.

Give a hand when you can and pat the back of everyone you hug.
