Investigative journalists from “Women for Weapons Trade Transparency” have just published an illuminating article about how the government of “Israel is given a blank check to buy $3.5 billion in future sales of ballistic missiles and artillery ammunition without obtaining the imprimatur of the US Congress buried in the current $106 billion military supplemental funding request sent to Congress.” This form of blanket approval for future sales of “over 116,000 JDAMs (Joint Direct Attack Munitions) without Congressional notification or public disclosure prevents Congress from stopping such sales if they compromise our nation’s national security interests.” Since such bombs are being used to kill thousands of children in Gaza and if that phenomenon torments your conscience, write to your Congressional and Senate representatives and demand that they strip this hidden provision from the supplemental bill.
