Sincerely Held Religious Beliefs [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-06-30 If I were to choose to deny the services of the company I own, and am the only employee of, to persons of certain religious groups when I object to their religious and life style practices based upon my own religious and life style beliefs, would I be allowed to do so? Could I post a ‘No Evangelical Christians Served’ sign outside my office? There are many groups/faiths that discriminate against women in practices and beliefs. I believe that there is that of ‘GOD” in everyone and that we should be judged based upon how we act, not on sex/gender/race/national origin/etc. So does today’s Supreme Court ruling on the website designer mean that I can also discriminate based upon my sincerely held religious beliefs. Can a business deny a women service because the owner believes that women should be subservient to their husbands and not go out of the home without a ‘guardian’ to escort her, or have credit in her own name? Oh, the questions that could be raised based upon ‘sincerely held beliefs’!
