Conversations with Linus: Part 1 [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-06-25 Per usual, Linus, my eleven-year-old Golden, was talking, and I was listening: “You know this Trump thing is a lot like gangrene; if you don’t treat it on a timely basis, it spreads, and if the symptoms are ignored or go untreated, it eventually kills you. Go look it up” From my subsequent internet search on gangrene: Question: Can a leg with gangrene be saved? Answer: Tissue that has been damaged by gangrene can’t be saved, … but treatment is available. The faster you get treatment, the better the chance of recovery for the rest of the body. Question: Can you stop gangrene from spreading? Answer: Once gangrene is firmly established, surgery to cut out the dead tissue, known as debridement, is often necessary to prevent further spreading and to allow the surrounding healthy tissue to heal. More extreme cases call for an amputation of the dead body part. When I asked Linus how bad he thought this case was, he gave me that retriever look and said: “God gave you a nose to smell with, and since advanced gangrene has a distinct odor, you figure it out!” [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/6/25/2176682/-Conversations-with-Linus-Part-1 Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
