[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-06-15 Fog in American Valley, in the morning during the summer following a rain, is a given. Doesn’t mean I have to like it though. In truth, it irritates the fock outta me, but I live with it. Heavy sigh. Irritating only because it restricts my getting out for nature photography work. By the time it burns off, usually around 9:00 — 11:00 a.m., I’m on to other things and not motivated to get out with my camera. Besides, the morning has been spent, and I do mornings, not the other times so much. The Daily Bucket is a nature refuge. We amicably discuss animals, weather, climate, soil, plants, waters and note life’s patterns. We invite you to note what you are seeing around you in your own part of the world, and to share your observations in the comments below. Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the phenological patterns that are quietly unwinding around us. Looking west over American Valley, Quincy, CA There’s a Red-tailed Hawk out there somewhere, looking for something munchable to feed the kids. The nest is about 1/10 mile (as the hawk flies) from this hunting perch; the tree is just adjacent to the wastewater treatment facility — rich hunting grounds. June 14, 2023. Remember this? Lunch wagon! This is aperta filum*, so over to you. 😍 Now it’s your turn. What’s up in your world, nature and changes? Let us know in the comments and as always please include your location, and photos if you got ‘em!
