[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-06-08 Today, the Supreme Court upheld a ruling by a lower court which overturned Alabama’s 6-1 white majority Congressional map. Alabama has a 4-1 white majority, and the redistricting was clearly indented to dilute black representation in the state. What surprised me most about this decision is that, although Roberts had sided with the Liberals, the deciding vote was cast by none other than Kavanaugh. I have some thoughts on this. Do you believe that the public’s poor perception of SCOTUS has something to do with this? How about the exposing of all the corruption in SCOTUS? Is SCOTUS attempting to resurrect itself from the image that it is partisan and dishonest? I believe this decision has a lot to do with it. And, so, we need to keep the right wing of the Supreme Court backed against the wall. In my honest opinion, this decision would never have been rendered without their fear that the court ‘s structure might eventually be changed, and the blatant partisanship removed from it. Yes, SCOTUS did something good today, but only because it sees what is coming. Keep it coming.
