Welcome to what is the 1207th original profile here at “Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day”, where we’ll be discussing New Jersey State Senator Ed Durr, a truck driver who after failing to be elected to office in 2017 and 2019, narrowly won in a major upset in winning the seat for District 3 of the New Jersey State Senate in 2021 with 51.7% of the vote. It was a surprise enough in the off-year election to make national headlines, mostly due to the fact that Durr was outspent by almost a 100 to 1 ratio by the Democratic incumbent, and only recorded his campaign videos from his cell phone. His entire motivation for running for office? He thought it unfair that he had a clean criminal record but still had to file for a concealed carry gun permit.



However, as has been the case with many Republican candidates that reach office in upsets in recent history, once the winning candidate has the attention of the press and they investigate to learn more of the people they’re writing a political biography for, they find some problematic things. Durr, for his part, was discovered to have made several Islamphobic posts, the worst of which read:
