Where you can talk about anything; books, plays, essays, and audio books. You don’t have to be reading a book to come in, sit down, and chat with us. I have lived in a number of homes. I’ve also not had a home at several moments in my life. But even at times when I’ve been unhoused, I’ve had access to books or, really, anything to read and I will pick up just about anything. Because I have moved around a lot over the course of almost 56 years on this Earth, I have cycled through several collections of physical books; some left behind, some traded in and sold to used bookstores. In other instances, I’ve loaned treasured books out that have never been returned (I don’t do that anymore). A few years ago, I had to finally declutter my very small apartment and get rid of a number of books as I had to resort to using an e-Reader. I’ve also spent hours scanning books at the library to read on my laptop. So I have a number of books on flash drives. Of course, when I visit someone else’s home, the bookcase is usually one of the first things that I check out. Long story short: I’ve lost more than a few books. I’ve found a few books, unexpectedly. My most recent “find” was a couple of days ago. The location where I play bridge also has bookshelves dedicated to to donated books and they had a somewhat old copy of The Franciscan Book of Saints. Now true enough, I’m not at all religious, but I do enjoy reading some religious literature. No telling when I’ll be able to read it, though; after all, my TBR is as tall and as infinite as Borges’ Library of Babel.
