Even if Trump is not a *registered* sex offender, is it incorrect to say #TrumpIsASexOffender? [1]

I understand that the verdict in the civil trial does not require Trump to register as a sex offender. However, the jury’s verdict was crystal clear after they unanimously decided he sexually assaulted a woman. Seems hard to deny #TrumpIsASexOffender.

Even Republicans like former Alabama Rep., Mo Brooks, seem to understand this.

Brooks, a Republican and once-prominent backer of Trump who had a prime speaking slot at the former president’s Jan. 6 rally shortly before the Capitol insurrection,” referred to Trump in a tweet Tuesday as a “repeat sexual predator offender.” “GOP CANNOT afford REPEAT sexual predator offender as 2024 president nominee. Offends voters badly,” the former north Alabama congressman tweeted. “America needs strongest GOP candidate. Trump ain’t it. Character matters.”

When a high profile Republican is publicly calling Trump a “serial sex offender predator” and saying that his run for president will offend voters, sounds like #TrumpIsASexOffender. Here's the tweet.

Even more than saying #TrumpIsASexOffender, it seems he might even fall under the category of “sexual predator” according to NY state guidelines. I was surprised to learn there are levels of sex offender categories.

There are three risk levels: Level 1 (low risk of repeat offense), or

Level 2 (moderate risk of repeat offense), or

Level 3 (high risk of repeat offense and a threat to public safety exists). A judge also determines whether an individual should be designated as a sexual predator, sexually violent offender or predicate sex offender, each of which is defined in the Sex Offender Registration Act Section 168-a. Risk level and designation determines the duration of registration.

Again, that is for legal definition determining how the court will deal with the sex offender, but “sexual predator” sure sounds appropriate here

"Sexual predator" means a sex offender who has been convicted of a sexually violent offense defined in subdivision three of this section and who suffers from a mental abnormality or personality disorder that makes him or her likely to engage in predatory sexually violent offenses.

There is no question the guy is likely to engage in more offenses. As his former ally, Mo Brooks, emphatically noted, he has be a REPEAT offender. No question, based on Trump’s own words, that he thinks he is entitled to behave this way. He said in his deposition that sexual assault is something stars have “unfortunately or fortunately” been allowed to get away with for “millions of years” and he definitely considers himself a star. If we take him at his word, then we can definitely refer to him a sex offender. Every.Time. Someone should come up with a hashtag to let people know #TrumpIsASexOffender in case they aren’t aware of this.
