Ralph Yarl, Kaylin Gillis and the Culpability of Fox News [1]

An honor student, a 16 year old kid gets shot twice and almost killed for the sin of mistakenly ringing the wrong door bell. Doorbelling while black. A 20 year old woman gets killed because she pulls into the wrong driveway. Shot by an 85 year old and a 65 year old respectively.



I could be wrong but I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that both of these paranoid shooters lived on a steady diet of Fox News. Day after day, week after week, month after month. A diet of nonstop paranoia, fear-mongering, race-baiting, crime screeching terror.

I suspect Fox News and it’s cousins in the extreme right wing media propaganda network are in large part to blame for this death, this near-death, and god knows we will only see more and more of these incidents in the months to come. Promoting a world of shoot first and ask questions later.



I suspect there is no way they can actually be held legally accountable For this shit but my god, they deserve to be.
