Crazy or Normal? How About Fraud or Integrity? In Politics, on Defense, You Lose. [1]

President Joe Biden 2023 State of the Union

Today, Republicans are on defense: Specifically over Social Security. Republican after Republican has been shown on news programs where they voice their desire to end Social Security. We witnessed during the State of the Union, they denied this charge.

Even Fox News held Rick Scott accountable for his ludicrous Five Year Sunset plan where Social Security, Medicare and other federal laws would have to be renewed every five years.

In the stock market, investors love stability, discipline. These are the factors that minimize risk. How can people make plans, have faith in their government, if laws change every five years? How can businesses develop and promote a product cycle? Rick Scott’s ideas are crazy.

Rick Scott was CEO of a company called Columbia HCA. The company under his leadership was fined $1.7 Billion for Medicare fraud. Scott walked away with $300 Million in Stock, a $5.1 Million severance pay, and a $950,000 five year consultancy agreement. This was his reward for ripping off America’s seniors and engendering the largest fine in Medicare history. But Scott wasn’t done. Scott started a company called Solantic. Under Scott’s leadership, Solantic, a chain of walk-in medical clinics, was sued ten times and settled in order to reduce negative publicity for Scott who was about to run for Governor.

Rick Scott, like Donald Trump, is a fraud. Each has been fined for ripping people off. Trump became President, and Scott reportedly seeks to be President. Rick Scott and Donald Trump maybe the only two men who make Mitch McConnell look good.

But last Tuesday night, Joe Biden changed everything. The President put Rick Scott, Ron Johnson, Mike Lee and other Republican Social Security frauds on defense. In politics, those on defense seldom win: Think Jimmy Carter 1980, George W. Bush 1992, and Donald Trump in 2020. Tuesday Night, Joe Biden went a long way toward winning the 2024 election whether he faces the frauds: Trump, Scott, or the crazy Menstrual Cycle Reporting, Book Banning, DeSantis. While Michelle Goldberg and others are calling for Joe not to run in 2024, on Tuesday night, Joe demonstrated he’s the right man, at the right time.
