We should NOT take the bait. Republicans won the news cycle on January 6th, by far. McCarthy came out “victorious” and smiling in horse race news coverage. We didn’t get a barely a word of remembrance of the Jan. 6 coup attempt into the news. Our funny cartoons don’t matter because we're the only ones who see them. We need to reach out to every available sane Republican House member to oppose or at least modify this Rules package. With seriousness of purpose, not ridicule. This takeover of the House by radicals has the potential to be an economic catastrophe, and that is not unduly alarmist or exaggeration. These pro-Putin, anti-Democracy lunatics who just “won” control of the House of Representatives are a global menace. We sit back eat popcorn and spectate and “message” at our peril. We must engage with any pro-Democracy Republicans we can find to fight this, regardless of their policy preferences.
