Captain Cassidy is Shocked, SHOCKED, to Find There's Nazi-ing in this Establishment! [1]

Just a brief note from our little corner of the actual swamp.

In a page ripped right out of Profiles in Courage, Sen. Bill Cassidy this morning posted on his Senate Facebook account his shock and dismay at the news of the old asshole’s Nazi Bro Brunch at his supper club and self-storage lot in Palm Beach.

President Trump hosting racist antisemites for dinner encourages other racist antisemites. These attitudes are immoral and should not be entertained. This is not the Republican Party.

The senator is correct that hosting one racist anti-semite encourages another. According to the club’s owner, one of the racists was just plus-oneing on the other guy’s invite. Always a class act.

Cassidy’s attaboy for accuracy, however, runs immediately into the rhetorical brick wall of, “This is not the Republican Party.”

Senator, here's a short list of your partisans who have expressed agreement with the hateful “replacement” conspiracy. This article traces some of the explicit uses of that “theory” by your party from Helms’ “white hands” to Michelle Bachmann’s “last election” hook that the old asshole ripped off.

Was Nixon’s southern strategy Republican? How ‘bout Reagan’s kickoff in Philadelphia, MS?

But, of course, you never knew your Republican president was a racist anti-semite even when he went on live TV to say the people who marched through Charlottesville chanting “Jews will not replace us” and murdered an innocent girl were good people.

How could you have known? It was all so vague and, as we’re all children of God, everyone has a right to their opinion, or something.

You remember the punchline in the Casablanca scene, after Renaud announces he’s shocked, shocked to find gambling in Rick’s place and the croupier brings him his winnings?

Sure, you remember, Senator. It was only two years ago the racist, anti-semite MAGoids, and your fealty to their leader, brought you your winnings.
