There are good reasons to wonder if the midterms haven't finally broken Trump's hold on the GOP.

Republicans are starting to blame the Orange Caligula after their so-called "red wave" failed to materialize. After years of Trump endorsing or discarding candidates and demanding total allegiance, they are starting to wonder whether hitching their wagon to that sick f*** is worth it.

If they can make it look like it's the Democrats’ fault that Trump is taken off the chessboard, not theirs, I'm inclined to bet that many GOPers will discreetly grease his path to ruin, oblivion — or worse. "All the chatter on my conservative and GOP channels is rage at Trump like I've never seen," said Michael Brendan Dougherty at National Review.

And that, combined with DeSantis’ rising star may well spell the end of that hellish buffoon.
