Alaska Rep. Mary Peltola (D) faces a competive battle for reelection after winning a special election in an upset this summer.

All 435 seats in the House of Representatives are on the ballot in the Nov. 8 elections, and control of the chamber is very much up in the air. With Democrats holding just a five-seat advantage, Republicans appear poised to retake the majority—thanks in no small part to gerrymandering—but uncertainty remains high.

Below you’ll find a complete guide to all of this year’s House races that are most likely to change hands based on a holistic assessment by the Daily Kos Elections team that takes into account district demographics, past election results, polling, outside spending, candidate quality, redistricting, and any other relevant information.

The table shown here tells you which party holds each district, or whether it’s a brand-new seat created as a result of the decennial reapportionment process, meaning no party currently holds it. (Two seats where pairs of incumbents are facing off are also “held” by both parties.) It also shows you how the 2020 presidential election would have gone under the new district lines created through redistricting, which will be used for the first time this month. Finally, it lists the major candidates in each race.

The spreadsheet version of this table, which you can find by clicking here, also includes two additional pieces of information: a geographic description of each district’s location as well as the old, pre-redistricting district it best corresponds to. Note that if a district in this column is bolded, it has a different number from its successor.
