The party primaries were held on August 9, 2022. Incumbent Republican Senator Ron Johnson was first elected in 2010. In 2016, he was reelected with 50.17% of the vote against Democrat Russ Feingold, Johnson's predecessor. In 2016, Johnson pledged to serve only two terms; however he ultimately decided to run for re-election to a third term.[1] This race is expected to be one of the most competitive and could decide control of the U.S. Senate. The Democratic Party has seen considerable success in recent statewide elections, including in 2018, when Democrats won every statewide contest on the ballot, including the state's other Senate seat, and the 2020 presidential election, in which Democrat Joe Biden narrowly carried the state.[2] Republican primary [ edit ] Nominee [ edit ] Eliminated in primary [ edit ] David Schroeder, former educator Disqualified [ edit ] Withdrawn [ edit ] John Berman, electronic hardware designer, test engineer and candidate for U.S. Senate (Minnesota and Kansas) in 2020[6] Declined [ edit ] Endorsements [ edit ] Results [ edit ] Johnson 70–80% 80–90% Results by county Republican primary results[23] Party Candidate Votes % Total votes 673,788 100.0% Democratic primary [ edit ] Nominee [ edit ] Eliminated in primary [ edit ] Kou Lee, restaurant owner [25] Adam Murphy, business owner [26] Steven Olikara, founder and CEO of Millennial Action Project [27] [28] Peter Peckarsky, attorney and candidate for Chair of the Democratic National Committee in 2017 [26] Darrell Williams, Wisconsin Emergency Management administrator[29] Did not file [ edit ] Withdrew [ edit ] Declined [ edit ] Fundraising [ edit ] Candidate Unitemized (<200$) individual contributions Itemized (>200$) individual contributions Self funding Coverage ending Mandela Barnes $2,668,973.10 $3,305,480.72 $0.00 Coverage ending: 06/30/2022[45] Endorsements [ edit ] Polling [ edit ] Graphical summary Results [ edit ] Barnes 60–70% 70–80% 80–90% Results by county Democratic primary results[23] Party Candidate Votes % Total votes 501,583 100.0% General election [ edit ] Predictions [ edit ] Endorsements [ edit ] Polling [ edit ] Aggregate polls Source of poll aggregation Dates administered Dates updated Ron Johnson (R) Mandela Barnes (D) Undecided [h] Margin RealClearPolitics August 12 – September 18, 2022 September 24, 2022 48.3% 46.8% 4.9% Johnson +1.5 FiveThirtyEight August 15 – September 18, 2022 September 24, 2022 47.6% 47.5% 4.9% Johnson +0.1 Average 48.0% 47.2% 4.9% Johnson +0.8 Graphical summary Results [ edit ] 2022 United States Senate election in Wisconsin Party Candidate Votes % Total votes Notes [ edit ] a b c d e Key: A – all adults RV – registered voters LV – likely voters V – unclear ^ Lee, Olikara, and Williams with 0% ^ Peckarsky with 1%; Lewis, Murphy, and Olikara with 0% ^ Lewis and Peckarsky with 1%; Murphy and Williams with 0% ^ Lewis and Murphy with 2%; Battino with 1%; Pecarsky and Williams with 0% ^ "A different candidate" with 3%; Battino and Murphy with 1%; Olikara with 0% ^ Battino, Lewis, and Olikara with 1% ^ Calculated by taking the difference of 100% and all other candidates combined. ^ "Wouldn't vote" with 2%; "Other" with 1% ^ "Another candidate" with 1%, "Not going to vote" with 1% Partisan clients a b c d e f g Poll conducted for Barnes's campaign ^ This poll was sponsored by 314 Action Fund a b c d Poll conducted for Lasry's campaign ^ Poll conducted for Way to Lead ^ This poll was sponsored by the NRSC ^ This poll was sponsored by Nelson's campaign References [ edit ] [END] --- [1] Url: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_United_States_Senate_election_in_Wisconsin#Polling_2 Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
