An educated guess on know who Trump’s snitches are [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2022-08-31 Missing from the picture: a yet to be convicted North Carolinian voter fraud perpetrator. A few weeks ago, I conducted a totally non-scientific poll on a Discord server to get people’s thoughts on the hottest political scandal since Trump’s last scandal, whatever that was: who was the FBI informant in the Mar-a-Lago raid? Here is a sample of what I got: 4 voted for First Daughter Ivanka Trump. 2 voted for Jared Kushner. 3 voted for Mark Meadows. 6 voted for First Lady Melania Trump. 12 voted for Barron Trump. Another 14 selected “some random staffer”. Obviously it’s hard to get a solid consensus based on what is essentially a series of shots in the dark. There’s a reason informants are informants, be it so they maintain their position in Trump’s inner circle or for the simple purpose of protecting them and their families from supporters that’d be called to arms by his Truth rants. Though just as how America incessantly debated who shot J.R. in the months leading up to the long awaited revelation, it’s always good to get a good debate rolling, right? First of all, a CNN analyst noted that the FBI search warrant was written in such a way that implied that there were more than one informant. Let’s also get a few more things out of the way. We know for a fact the informant(s) informed the FBI of the *precise* location of the documents in question that led to the search. Here is a word from Yours Truly’s former acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney: This would be someone who was handling things on day to day, who knew where documents were, so it would be somebody very close inside the president, my guess is there’s probably six or eight people who had that kind of information. Also consider this quote from former Trump fixer Michael Cohen: Cohen said that he “would not be surprised to find out [the informant] is Jared or one of his children … Who else would know about the existence of a safe and the specific contents kept inside?” This should immediately rule out Barron, Melania, and “some random staffer”. Barron may be Donald Trump’s son, but he’s also 16. Let’s be frank, what good comes out of a 16 year old knowing the (illegal) contents of his dad’s safe? I also rule out Melania based on this quote because, quite frankly, the former First Lady does not have a record of being particularly involved in either her husband’s business or political career. So if even Trump’s son and wife are out of the loop then it’s even less likely that random staffers would know about where the 20 boxes recovered were and what documents were inside them and what was inside the safe. That leaves us with three people: Jared, Ivanka, and (Mark) Meadows. My take is that the informant(s) is either a pair of or a combination of all three. All three are closely tied into Trump’s inner circle throughout his time at the White House, whether earned or not. They also have good personal reasons to flip and be on the FBI’s good side when/if they indict Trump. Knowing the Donald, he’ll easily be baited into incriminating himself in some blabbering Der Untergang-style rant. Indictment is inevitable if the investigation were helmed by a DOJ with the balls to do so. Surely that ain’t the best ship for an aspiring Met Gala invitee to sink on. “But it’s her dad”, one can argue about Ivanka. While not wrong, he’s also the same dad that literally buried her mom (and his ex-wife at that) at his trashy golf course for a cheap tax break. I can see this as her breaking point, topped up with months of self-distancing from her father’s deranged copium addiction. Also let this sink in: She had time to tweet about some photoshoots in Poland and her mom’s passing (understandably so), but nothing about her dad potentially being charged with espionage and/or treason. That should probably strike you as off putting… I’ve also found it interesting that the elder Trump would rather entrust Kushner with matters of government over Jr. and Eric, his own flesh and blood. We know Donald is hardly above blatant nepotism, why hadn’t he afforded the same political opportunities to his sons as he gave his daughter and son-in-law? It doesn’t matter now anyway. Jared hardly knows the old man. Why should he die for him? At just over 13 years of marriage this year starting in 2009 as an “official” Trump, suppose Jr. and Jared both have the threat of life behind bars being dangled in their faces by the FBI lest they cut a deal and cooperate with their investigation into The Former Guy. Who might flip the fastest? Plus, I’m pretty sure Kushner — due to his high ranking within the administration — had access to some dark government secrets that could easily be used as bargaining chips with the Feds to get off scot free some (likely) very obvious crimes. Lastly, where does Meadows fit in all this, by the way? Like Kushner, I could easily see a person as close to the president as a Chief of Staff (arguably even a more important position than the Vice Presidency, barring the Bush-Cheney duumvirate) also having firsthand access to some dirty little secrets. Also consider the fact Meadows was literally the first Chief of Staff since Watergate to be held in contempt of Congress — a charge which was past on to the Justice Department where it went to die. I got a good feeling he didn’t go off scot free just for giving Liz Cheney a couple of juicy texts from Brian Kilmeade. All three held different similarly high positions within the Trump administration. I cannot guarantee all three are involved in the FBI’s investigation. But one thing for sure is that though they may all have different reasons to cooperate with the FBI, with the threat of prison — honestly, what the hell do they have to lose?
