Iowa’s State Fair is best-known for silly photo-ops with politicians and corn dogs. But being an eastern city-slicker, this was a whole new world for me.

Some photos from a visit.

For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit. I am currently in Iowa.

This plaza is a nice place to get out of the sun and sit for a while
