Making information transparent can dent but not destroy the public sphere [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.', 'Backgroundurl Avatar_Large', 'Nickname', 'Joined', 'Created_At', 'Story Count', 'N_Stories', 'Comment Count', 'N_Comments', 'Popular Tags'] Date: 2022-08-11 Supposedly Trump claims he’s encouraging the release but won’t do so himself. Merrick Garland called Trump’s bluff yesterday, daring him to make the search warrant public and emphasizing the nature of the classified material that he’s refused to return to the National Archives. The Washington Post reports that it may involve nuclear weapons, raising new questions about why Trump would hold on to them. Were they souvenirs of his tenure or would Trump monetize them. The latter seems more likely, although he does tend to hoard memorabilia of questionable value as well as authenticity. More puzzling is his doubling down on having the warrants released by DoJ without releasing them himself, leaving him as a victim of his own inability to be transparent? Trump has these same documents but has chosen not to release them. Instead he’s encouraging the DOJ to do so. x Trump has these same documents but has chosen not to release them. Tomorrow, his attorneys will file a motion to block the documents from being unsealed. Then Trump will put out a statement claiming his lawyers are blocking the propaganda from the DOJ because of blah, blah, blah. — Carlos Rosado (@crosado1968) August 12, 2022 x How fucking dense do you have to be to consider Trump selling secrets to our adversaries "far-fetched"? We already know he's done that, by selling critical secrets to Russia's puppet ruler in Saudi Arabia that allowed him to take power. This isn't new. https://t.co/T8p20TMNAp — PropOrNot ID Service 🇺🇸 (@propornot) August 12, 2022 x Trump has been weirdly obsessed with nuclear weapons since before he won the presidency. — Megan McArdle (@asymmetricinfo) August 12, 2022 x Wen Ho Lee spent a year in solitary confinement for removing nuclear weapons information from a secure location. Just saying. https://t.co/ZF0HyZ1xUB — Jon B. Griffin (@lgriffin) August 11, 2022 x Trump's fake Renoir incident is a perfect example of a compulsive liar. Short story: Trump insists he has an original Renoir and when he was told the original was hanging in a museum, he still insisted his copy is the real thing. 😂https://t.co/drkYfmmAVi — Mya Hisegn (@hisegn) July 9, 2022 [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2022/8/11/2116054/-Will-previous-guy-blink-Making-information-transparent-can-dent-but-not-destroy-the-public-sphere Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
