Dear Merrick Garland,

I owe you a sincere and whole-hearted apology for doubting you, for losing my patience with your slow, methodical, meticulous, yet highly strategic legal process.

For the last year, I confess that I have been getting more and more impatient, getting increasingly frustrated that Trump appeared to evading accountability for his blatant crimes yet again.

I am so sorry that I misinterpreted your few words and quiet mannerisms as ineptitude and weakness. I am sorry I had a lack of confidence in your actions and even your intentions.

I apologize that on this website and on Twitter, more than once I ranted about you being a “do nothing” Attorney General. That you were in over your head.

I am delighted to apologize to you. Nothing gives me more pleasure that to admit that “I was wrong about you.” and eat my words. Crow? I will gladly eat it, multiple crows … euphemistically of course, we are not going to actually eat the birds. You know what I mean.

Thank you for being the ultimate professional. Thank you for out-maneuvering Trump and likely the entirety of the GOP. Thank you for doing your job so damn well that we didn’t think that you were actually doing anything. Seriously.

Super top secret, highly classified, def-con 5 nuclear information was stolen by Trump?

It’s like mana from heaven. I’m giddy. I’m on cloud nine.

By the way, did you just feel that? That is the another huge movement of the tectonic plates of American politics shifting in real time towards the moral arc of justice.

So again, my sincere and humble apologies. Unlike most Republicans, I can openly admit when I was wrong about someone because I am a mature, self-aware, decent person.

Keep up the great work and you keep doing you. Don’t listen to us dorks who don’t know what is going on behind the scenes.

Except, please do it faster. Speed. Time is of the essence, but do it by the book. Oops. Here I go being a backseat driver again. You do you. You got this. I believe in you.
