Dems Move Ahead in Generic Congressional Ballot [1]

If you have been following the polls, it becomes obvious that the Democrats have taken a nice, if still shaky lead in the race to control the Senate. Control of the House, however, has looked quite shaky. While it is still the Republicans to lose, they seem to be hard at work trying to lose it.

The latest Generic Congressional Ballot has the Democrats taking the lead, albeit by the slimmest of margins. DEMS MOVING UP shows that there has been approximately a 2.7% movement since May. While this is not huge, it shows Dem popularity is now higher than that of Republicans.

The lead is likely bigger than that, though. All of the polls in August show the Democrats up, some by as high as 9%. Since redistricting favors the Republicans, Democrats will need all the difference as they can get.

Still, up beats down, any day of the week. Obviously, this is no indication that we need to relax. The odds still favor the Republicans if the change towards the Democrats stalls out. If, however, we keep pushing the dialogue of Democratic accomplishments versus Republican obstruction, we may well win a second Democratic House majority.
