Welcome to the New Day Cafe! This is an open thread.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been obsessively listening to BBC 6 Radio as of late. Right now they are discussing upcoming “proms”. As best I can tell, a prom is UK slang is a live classical music performance, not an occasion for awkward dates and ugly dresses. Unless you want to take an awkward date to a live music performance while wearing an ugly dress.
