I always cry on America's 4th of July.

For many of my life's decades it's been this way,

on this summer's July day.

I've been filled with joy and also there's been sadness,

but tears today are for American madness.

It seems there are a few

who demand defining American freedom for me and for you.

Now our freedoms have stood a good long time

And have served our human rights pretty much just fine.

But these minorty Americans say loosing all our freedoms....

Well our founders wanted it this way.

So when July 4th comes around next year

I have a very painful fear

What will be our celebration song

When all of our rights are gone

Our right as women to be as free as men

GONE

Our right as children not to birth children

GONE

Our right to family planning thru contraception

GONE

Our right to love and marry who our heart has bonded with

GONE

Our right to our own spirit, with or without religion

GONE

Our right to vote as a

Non white or

Woman

GONE

Our right to be free from slavery

GONE

Is this truly the America our founders tried to imply

Or is all of this just

One big FAT ugly Fascist lie

And so

This is why today

On this 4th of July

I cry

I M Human
