Adolf Hitler wins fifth term of office in Ompundja, Namibia [1] ['Rob Beschizza'] Date: 2025-11-27 Adolf Hitler has retained his seat in Ompundja, Namibia, winning a fifth term of office with Oshana Regional Council. The 59-year-old regional councilor and member of the South West Africa People's Organisation is lauded for his grassroots work and anti-apartheid activism, according to local media. A popular figure in his lightly-populated constituency, Adolf Hitler Uunona is well-aware of why he gets media attention abroad and is always ready to denounce his Nazi namesake. He generally omits part of his name from daily life but politics is all about paperwork. He also rejected any notion of world domination. "It wasn't until I was growing up that I realised: This man wanted to subjugate the whole world," Uunona said. "I have nothing to do with any of these things." He explained that his father named him after the notorious Nazi leader responsible for the Holocaust. However, Uunona pointed out that "he probably did not understand" what it meant. Namibia was a former German colony and German names are common there; it fell under British and subsequently South African control after World War I and won independence in 1990, shortly before the end of the apartheid era.
