Seems my call to action on the Lunduke locals.com instance to make
finger great again is picking up steam. Awesome.

Oh, if you read this and want to have this running for yourself, you
       need:

       - A publicly accessable machine that can run unix services
       - Port 79 open on your firewall, and reachable (port forwards work)
       - A finger server listed in your inetd config (/etc/inetd.conf on BSDs)
       - Likewise for Finnish imitations (Linux) for xinetd
       - A .plan file in your homedirectory.

Satisfy those, and you should be good to go!

       Finger on!
