I haven't done business with them, but I've heard the screams....

Seriously, when their ads first appeared about six months ago, I checked
around and was given to understand that they're a dba for Hard Drives
International, a company which has developed an odious reputation in
the Mac market. Now this company that appeared out of the blue six
months ago--and initially couldn't decide whether it's name was
"Wholesale 54" or "Warehouse 54"--is advertising itself as "One of the
oldest names in the storage business!"

APS charges more because they're conservative--they aren't courting
bankruptcy by engaging in cutthroat pricing--and because they use
some of that money to hire competent staff, and enough of them. That's
how they developed their reputation for consistently coming through
for their customers.

Disclaimer: My only relationship with APS is that I'm a *very*
satisfied customer.
