 It would depend on the modem and the disk drive but I would guess in most 
cases the answer is 'no problem'. I have a USR Robotics HST at home and sit
my A1020 (5.25") drive on top of it... no problems. At work we have a GVC 2400
and 9600 each has an A1011 on top of it... no problems.
