does SUN manufacture an X-window terminal?

Not any more. Before it was discontinued, they called it a 3/50 :-)

Many folks find that a cheap, used 3/50 running something called
Xkernel makes a very serviceable X terminal. See answer 67 on the FAQ
list for details.

If so, how does it compare with the DEC X-window terminal (1200)?

I'm not familiar with any benchmark results, but it almost certainly
wins the price comparison. Especially if you have some lying around
collecting dust.
