"Always" until Apple does the async SCSI Manager they have once (a long long
time ago) told us about in the 7.0 pre-pre-documentation.

When that may happen is anybody's guess. I'm not holding my breath.

NB: The File manager is asynchronous, but under 6.0 it was anybody's guess
how to let it handle multiple requests concurrently (a requirement for
file-sharing software if you want to avoid deadlocks when cross-mounting).
Has that changed under 7.0? If not, how does 7.0's file sharing do it?
