per a suggestion by Dan Ehrlich, there's yet another header in the
comp.archives articles.  The header

X-Original-Date:

shows the Date: header that was on the original article before it was
reposted.  Useful in a number of ways -- to see how long it's taking
between posting and reposting, as a generator for a unique key for
storing articles, or to sort on.  

comp.sys.sun does the same thing.  think of it as a metric of how far
the moderator is behind :-).
