In March of 1991, the U.S. National Critical Technologies Panel issued
their first biennial report to the President on technologies considered
essential to the long-term security and economic interests of the U.S.
Not surprisingly, manufacturing technologies featured predominately in
the report. The following is the intro to the Manufacturing section of
the report. Much of the text of this section is available via anonymous
ftp from control.com (cd pub/ics/documents) in the file critical.tech.Z.
