I've been using Excellence V2.0 on my A3000 for several months now. Just
THIS WEEK, I was looking through the manual and found something I'd missed
earlier. DOCUMENTS PRINTED IN POSTSCRIPT MUST HAVE PITCH SET EQUAL TO 15!!!
(That line may even be in all caps in the manual) For months people have
commented that the postscript looked squat, it turned out to be because I had
the pitch set equal to 10 (the default). To change the pitch, select the
PAGE SETUP menu item in the PROJECT collumn, PITCH will be one of the
buttons on the resulting requester. The postscript looks beautiful with the
pitch set to 15. Perhaps this is your problem. Incidentally, I'd recommend
to anyone using an older version of Excellence to upgrade. I never used it
but heard it was buggy, unstable, and didn't release all it's resources.
The new version is probably the best program I own (Handshake is a close
second). The software is very idiot proof and hasn't crashed of it's own
accord, at least not that I was able to tell. Standard disclamer: I don't
work for Micro Systems Software.
