Hi!

How can I calculate the size of a cartridge tape?

We have a lot of 3M-tapes which are labeled as follows:

	DC600A; 600 feet; 12,500 ftpi; 550 oersted tape;

I think it is not a 150M tape but it works fine with our 150M tape device.
Only once it complained that it wanted another sort of tape:

	Apr 28 11:28:30 hal vmunix: st0: wrong tape for writing, use DC6150
	tape (or equivalent)

But this message has never appeared again after a reboot.

So far there haven't been any problems when I tried to restore files which
I dumped to the tape.

Should I go on using those old DC600A tapes or should I try to get some DC6150
tapes? Has anyone negative experiences with DC600A-tapes on a 150M-device?

Joern
