If that network file system connection isn't reliable enough, it seems that
there's a danger of something breaking in a bad way, i.e. when partially
updating a file (history,active,whatever). In this case you should probably
use some other way to distribute the processing, i.e. using NNTP for posting
articles or assembling UUCP batches on the server and passing them out with
rsh, or whatever you're doing (you didn't say).
