Subject: high speed serial problem

I have an old 520ST (with only an external floppy drive!) with 1 Mb RAM,
and I am having trouble with the serial port. I am trying to use it with a
Telebit Trailblazer modem, and it works fine with a low speeds (e.g. 2400
bps) but it tends to lock up at PEP speeds (19.2K bps). I tried installing
a program in my AUTO folder which was supposed to fix the problem, but all
that did was to cause the modem to _always_ lock up. I've used the modem
with other ST's (a STacy and a Mega) and it seemed to work fine, so I
believe that the problem must be in my ST. Can anyone suggest anything to
check? Is there a likely connection to check, or chip to replace?

Thanks.
