This is in response to a request that I post responses
to my posting in comp.databases.

The original postings was as follows:

-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Any good texts for novices trying to learn Oracle/SQL ?

How long does it take to learn Oracle/SQL to become reasonably
productive ? (As an example, it took me about a year to become
proficient in X windows.) Any recommended methods for expediting
the learning process for Oracle/SQL ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------

However, I have exactly one response so far; I do hope I get more
because from the traffic on these newsgroups, it seems there are
quite a few people who are good with Oracle/SQL.

Thanks,
Jimmy
