Ah yes, good ole Portuguese! Depending on the font that you are using
all of the accents that you should need are available by using several
key combinations.  You can view all of the special characters that are
available by using a DA called "Key Caps" that came with your system
software. You can get a visual representation by holding down various
keys (like the command, option, option-shift etc) For example should
you want "um til sobre um a" you would press option-n, a.  If you are
talking about the accent usage in older Portuguese (of many centuries
past) then you are pretty much out of luck as far as I know.
