Dos and Coherent can reside on the same hard drive. I have a 286 with a
40 Meg hard drive. Upon installing coherent I was able to partition my
hard drive into two 20 meg logical partitions. The first partition is
the active partition which I have DOS on, so by default my system boots-up
to DOS. The second partition I have Coherent installed on. Installation
includes a boot-strap program from Mark Williams Co. so when my system is
booting up I type 1 (for logical partition #1 - Dos is on 0) and my system
will boot-up with Coherent. Installation is quite easy and being able to
have both operating systems on my hard drive is a big bonus.

Hope this helps.
