Kent has the following packages for enhancing Vaxima (Franz Lisp based
unser UNIX).  Some of the packages (GENCRAY, XGP, ALLROOTS)
also can be used from other symbolic manipulation systems.

We are going to port these packages to Common Lisp and make them
work under the CL-based maxima (available from U-Taxes Austin).
The purpose of this message is to collection information on sites
that are interested in obtain all or some of the packages (free of course).
Distribution will be ftp in source form.

Very rough description of the packages:

PPACK -- A padic polynomial manipulation package: gcd, squarefree,
         factoring, and partial fractions for
         univariate and multivariate polynomials (mod p, over the integers
         and over algebraic extension fields).

GENCRAY -- A f77/CFT77 fortran code translator with parallel features.

MHELP -- An on-line documentation retrieval facility for vaxima.

VAXTEST -- An automated testing facility for newly created Vaxima.

XGP -- An X11-based interactive graphics package for mathematical functions
       used directly from Macsyma or another symbolic system.

Mc\TeX -- Macsyma to \TeX and \LaTeX converter.

ALLROOTS -- Numerical quadrature, root finding, extremum location,
	    Gamma function, and Pad\'{e} approximation package.
