[A previoius message on this subject didn't make it, so let's
hope this one does.]

I see that a new thread has been created since I've been gone: how
people got into Kate. I thought I'd tell my story.

The year was 1982. I was a moderate Pat Benatar fan. I had the album
_Crimes of Passion_, which has her cover of "Wuthering Heights". I
liked that song quite a bit, because it was so different from anything
else on the album.

I was a junior in college then, and one day I was walking down a
corridor in my dorm when I heard what sounded like W.H. coming from
a friend's room. I couldn't hear clearly out in the corridor, so I
kind of assumed it was P.B. "Hey, that's Pat Benatar," I said.

"No it isn't," said my friend. "It's Kate Bush."

"Who?" I said. I went in his room to listen. He was taping _The Kick
Inside_ for another friend, and I listened to the rest of that album.
By the time it was over, I was hooked!

Later I checked my P.B. album, and I noticed that on the label it
said, "Wuthering Heights (K. Bush)".
