Subject: Upgrading Memory in Z-248

I am trying to upgrade the memory in my Z-248-12 (model ZBF-2526-EK)
and have run into some problems. I first added 2 1 MB SIMMS, and all
seemed fine. I was able to use setup to configure 640K base and 2048K
expanded (and I got to lose the 256K between 640 and 1M that I was
using, thanks Zenith). I then removed the original 256K SIMMS and
replaced them with 4 1 MB SIMMS. Now according to SETUP I still have
the same orginal 3096K available total. It must be using the new SIMMS
to get 3 Meg, but it won't recognize the full 6 Meg installed. Is
there an undocumented jumper or sitch somewhere to tell the system what
kind of SIMMS are installed? Any other suggestions? My attempts to
talk to Zenith technical support have failed for the last 3 days.
They never let you talk to a tech, and will only take a message. When
the tech calls back, I am out. When I try to return his call moments
after missing him, they still will only take a message! arrrrgggg
Any suggestions ? ? ?
