Thanks to everyone who replied to my plea for help re adding simms to
my 4d/25. For those who asked, the consensus is that you CANNOT mix
4 mbyte and 1 mbyte simms. Actually, a guy from Kingston told me this,
too (AFTER i bought the simms - albeit not directly from Kingston), but
when i told him that my sgi glossy brochure said that the 4d/25 could
hold 24 mbytes of memory, he was puzzled, too.

Luckily, i heard from some generous soul who had posted an exhaustive
set of test results in this newsgroup last September (well, but i didn't
pay attention then...). I unfortunately didn't save the header of his
message, so i lost his name, but i'm sure you are out there, so thanks very
much. Maybe you could post those test results again, if you see a clamour
for them in the newsgroup.

As to how to get 24 mbytes into the 4d/25 without using a combination of
4 mbyte and 1 mbyte simms? You use 2 mbyte and 1 mbyte simms! who'd a
thunk it?
