I've looking through the Inside Mac series on pixmaps and have found
noting on specific resource types for them. 'pmap' is what I would
expect them to be.... Is there such a resource type?  If so, is there
some "drawing" program that will let you draw them in multitudes of
wonderous colors?

While were on the topic of resources... how about Xmap's (x-bitmaps)?
