  No, you are not alone in this, it drives me crazy too!

  Also, while we're having fun, can anybody tell me that no matter
how many times I place my wastebasket on the screen and save the 
layout (and even save the properties from my filemgr so its position
is recorded in .filemgrrc file) that the darn thing always starts up
under the filemgr icon.
