     A friend of mine has one of these things at her workplace
and wants to know if it's good for anything besides a boat
anchor.  UBC used to have many of these, apparently, and this is
one of them.

     I'd never encountered these before, but it looks like a
late-70's-style mini, maybe equivalent to a PDP-11 or something
like that.  If it matters, the model name is listed in full as
MICOM 2001 PED.

     Any ideas or experience?
