Well, if your FAL library isn't complete damaged, you may even try the VM
client that comes along the irc2.6pre1x-package. You may ftp it from the
usual places. If you don't find it, try ftp.informatik.tu-muenchen.de, 
subdirectory /pub/net/irc/VM.

Features:
    - Half screen scrolling.
    - History.
    - Function key bindings.
    - In general it's the old irc2.x client.
